Last November, as dusk fell over White City, hundreds of people gathered outside Westfield London and looked up.
Above them, a fleet of drones traced the shape of a unicorn across the night sky.
This was The No Horn Unicorn — a drone light show created in partnership with Purple Tuesday, inspired by the children’s book by Dr Shani Dhanda.
The Story Behind It
The No Horn Unicorn tells the story of Ugo — a unicorn without a horn who lives in Wildberry Forest. His friends assume his difference holds him back. It doesn’t. It turns out to be his greatest strength.
Written by Dr Shani Dhanda — disability rights activist, Purple Tuesday Global Ambassador, and the number one name on the Disability Power 100 — the book is a story about self-acceptance and the quiet power of being exactly who you are.
We brought it to life with drones.
Designed to Be Accessible
Purple Tuesday exists to improve the experience of disabled customers and communities. For us, that commitment had to go into the show itself.
The display was specifically engineered to be low-noise and sensory-considerate — making it suitable for neurodiverse audiences and people with sensory sensitivities who are too often excluded from live events.
It was also free and open to everyone. Because a show about inclusion that wasn’t accessible to everyone would have missed the point entirely.
The Night
Audiences gathered from the afternoon, with Dr Shani Dhanda hosting a meet-and-greet ahead of the show. At 5:45pm, the drones took to the sky above one of London’s busiest shopping destinations.
For twenty minutes, light mapped out the world of Wildberry Forest — a story told without words, in formation, above the city.
The reactions said everything.
